How to cancel or manage DashCanopy billing yourself

Logged-in DashCanopy customers cancel or update payment methods in the Stripe Customer Portal, opened from Manage billing on the pricing page or from Settings → Payments.

Where Manage billing lives

DashCanopy billing is self-serve for a logged-in customer. You do not need to email support to open the subscription portal. The control is labeled Manage billing. It appears in two places that call the same Stripe Customer Portal session.

The first place is the pricing page at /pricing, after you sign in. The page shows a note that you can manage payment methods or cancel, and a Manage billing button. The second place is Settings → Payments & Plan at /settings/payments. The settings overview calls that card Payments & Plan and describes it as the place to view the current plan and manage billing. The signed-in payments screen has its own Manage billing button.

Sign-in is a magic link. Open /login, enter the email on the account, and use the one-time link that is emailed. There is no separate password to reset before you can reach billing.

Manage billing is available only when you are logged in. The portal session is created for the Stripe customer stored on the account. If DashCanopy cannot find a Stripe customer for that login, it responds that there is no billing account yet and that you should start a subscription from Pricing first. A brand-new login with no checkout behind it has nothing to cancel.

What the Stripe Customer Portal does

Manage billing opens Stripe’s Customer Portal. DashCanopy creates that session and sends you to the URL Stripe returns. In the portal you can cancel the subscription and update payment methods. The payments screen in DashCanopy also describes the portal as the place to update a payment method, download invoices, or cancel.

When you leave the portal, Stripe sends you back to /settings/payments on the same DashCanopy origin you started from. You land in the product, on the payments screen, rather than on an unrelated page.

The portal is Stripe’s. Card numbers are handled by Stripe. DashCanopy’s privacy notes describe payment data as a Stripe customer id and subscription tier, not raw card data. Updating a card means doing it in the portal, not by pasting a card number into a DashCanopy form on this page.

Use the same portal whether you want to change the card, read an invoice, or cancel. There is not a second, hidden cancel path required for a normal subscription started from the pricing page.

Trial, cancellation timing, and refunds

Starter, Pro, and Agency each show a 7-day free trial on the pricing page. Checkout starts that trial with a 7-day trial period. The pricing page tells you to review the checkout terms before starting a subscription. Do that before you rely on a summary.

The Terms of Service say you may cancel at any time from your account settings, that cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and that partial billing periods are not refunded. They also say to write to support within 30 days if you believe you were charged in error. Those sentences are the policy. The portal is how you perform the cancel.

Monthly list prices are $19 for Starter, $69 for Pro, and $149 for Agency. Annual billing is offered on the pricing page at $190, $690, and $1,490 per year. Whichever interval you chose at checkout is the subscription the portal will show. Switching plans or intervals is done through the billing tools Stripe presents and through the pricing page, not by editing a setting this article invents.

If Manage billing reports that there is no billing account yet, start from /pricing while logged in and complete checkout. After Stripe has a customer for the account, return to Manage billing on the pricing page or at /settings/payments.

Common questions

These answers describe the live Manage billing control and the Terms of Service. They do not add a refund offer the terms do not contain.

How do I cancel DashCanopy?

Sign in, then open Manage billing on the pricing page or at Settings → Payments & Plan (/settings/payments). That button opens the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can cancel. The Terms of Service say cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

How do I update my card or download an invoice?

Use the same Manage billing button. The Stripe Customer Portal is where payment methods and invoices are handled. DashCanopy returns you to /settings/payments afterward.

What if Manage billing says there is no billing account?

DashCanopy shows that message when it cannot find a Stripe customer for the login. Start a subscription from the pricing page first, then open Manage billing again.

Is there a free trial before I am billed?

Yes. Starter, Pro, and Agency each show a 7-day free trial, and checkout applies a 7-day trial period. Review the terms shown at checkout. Partial billing periods are not refunded, per the Terms of Service.
